EDF Energy, the company that owns 51°, has recently completed a full business review of 51° and its alignment with the strategic goals of the company. As a result, it has been decided that EDF Energy will withdraw from the commercial telecom market. Our achievements51° was set-up in 2001 to leverage value from the existing electrical duct asset of EDF Energy to service the Company's internal telecom requirements and provide telecom services to wholesale customers. Since then, we have invested significant capital in building a state-of-the-art SDH and Ethernet network within the London metropolitan area. Our 180km network stretches from Park Royal in the west to Stratford in the east and from Islington in the north to Wimbledon in the south. Our network provides fibre connectivity to over 100 multi-tenanted units as well as extending to 23 Points Of Presence (PoPs) in carrier neutral locations in London. Our plans for the futureIn the last 6 months we have conducted a full business review of 51°. As a result, it has been decided that EDF Energy will withdraw from the commercial telecom market. However, EDF Energy will continue to honour the commitments made to all customers and suppliers of 51°. We will continue to serve your needs through a new Telecom Centre of Excellence, which is being established to look after your interests and the internal telecom requirements of EDF Energy.
